How do I uninstall SweetIM?
To uninstall SweetIM and remove it from your computer go to your Windows control panel and click on Add/Remove programs. Select Macrogaming ltd (the company that builds SweetIM) and click on remove program. This will effectively remove SweetIM from your computer.
How do I uninstall SweetIM for IE?
You can minimize the SweetIM for IE toolbar by clicking the right button when placing the cursor on the toolbar, and then selecting SweetIM for Internet Explorer. If you still want to uninstall SweetIM for IE and remove it from your computer go to your Windows control panel and click on Add/Remove programs. Select SweetIM for Internet Explorer and click on remove program. This will effectively remove SweetIM for IE from your computer.
I'm having trouble uninstalling the Toolbar.
Windows 2000 or XP users must be logged in as an administrator to uninstall SweetIM for IE. After logging in, Select to remove "SweetIM for Internet Explorer" from the "Add/Remove Programs" window, in the "Control Panel". If you are unsuccessful, please try installing the Toolbar again and then uninstalling.

Is SweetIM a Spyware ?
This information is taken from Help2Go :From what we can tell, SweetIM is NOT spyware. We think it is a false positive from ZoneAlarm. However, all indications are that SweetIM is a pretty useless program to have, anyway.
The purpose of SweetIM is for you to be able to send fancier smiley-faces and IM graphics to friends who are using MSN Messenger. BUT - they are only able to see these advanced smiley-faces if they also have SweetIM installed.
Our advice: uninstall the program, unless you really really love the features that SweetIM provides, and your buddies have SweetIM installed, too. It is better to err on the side of caution in this instance.

i have this problem but dont worry help is at hand, go to task manager and stop any processes from publisher mywebsearch or funwebproducts, then search my computer for files under this name. next go to start run and type regedit, when in regedit press ctrl+f then type mywebsearch whatever is found delete without mercy and do the same for funwebproducts and sweetIM (it all comes from same place) would recommend you download spybot search and destroy from spybotsd.de and hijackthis is a good one to sort out home page changes, good luck

In Process Explorer, search for all handles containing 'sweetim', closed those handles and processes, then its just a matter of using add/remove programs and/or deleting the sweetim folder in program files
I installed sweetIm during a chat with my 29 year old chinese virtual friend who sent me an emoticon I was curious to see. Anyway, SweetIm like you said, is really a childish "piece of s--t". It has become my default search engine on firefox even after I uninstalled it... and the most annoying thing is that I can't find it in "Add-ons" to remove.
Their website promised it was "spyware and adware free" so why doesn't it let me remove it completely? what are the rest of the remaining unknown files doing on my system?
I'm about to format my whole hard drive because of this crap. Please spread the news: DO NOT install SweetIm on your computer. It can be really annoying, even to a child.

I've tried every suggestion I have found online, and still have a weird drop down feature when I do google search, and some weird mozilla features, naely my favorites coe up in the form of a drop down box. This is all part of the sweetIM Malware family. I have deleted 30 or 40 files associated with sweetIM

Tried to uninstall sweetIM several times witout success.I despise the pushy way it pops up to update it. It does not give the chance to CANCEL, it only lets you choose 'next' or 'not now'
Here is what you will need to do:
Go to "Start"--->"Settings"--->"Control Panel". On your control panel, select "Add or Remove Programs".
To uninstall SweetIM for Messenger, select “SweetIM for Messenger” (or "Macrogaming SweetIM") from the list of currently installed programs. Click "Remove" and follow the instructions.
To uninstall SweetIM for Internet Explorer, select "SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer" from the list of currently installed programs. Click "Remove" and follow the instructions.

Here's what I did. Start by unplugging your computer from the web.
Go to uninstall programs and have all traces of it removed. Int Expl will pop up after a bit. Just close it out and it's gone.
I still have the little search window in the upper right in Mozilla and am working on that now.
But it seems to get rid of the vast majority of the bullshit.

after removal if you find its still default search in firefox you can change it this way:
in firefox address bar type
about:config
then find preference
keyword.URL
it should be bold and described as 'user set'
right click it and select reset
this should fix it

I uninstalled my Messanger and reinstalled it and SweetIm was gone.But when I checked my programs it still there and the remove window does not come up???? I have windows XP and have tried everything that I've read on here without destroying my computer.Does anyone out there have a sure way of getting rid of this CRAP...... TOM

SweetIM can be sweeter if they dont change my default Firefox search engine. But since they did, I think SweetIM is a motherfucker. Yessss ! finally from a help of one of those coments i got to uninstall SweetIm .. all you do is go to ControlPanel and click "Uninstall a program" at the bottom. then try an find SweetIm for Messenger 2.6 Im so glad i unistalled it.. and i hope this helps other people. i agree this is a stupid one HiYo is better

I cannot uninstall sweetim. Went to the control panel to uninstall. Found sweetim (2x) (couldn't find Macrogaming ltd). The only thing there is how often I used it. Nothing to click on to uninstall. Tried restoring the system but it won't let me do that before the date of sweetim's installation. Frustrated!!! Help!!!
If you have removed sweet im from add/remove programs and it still shows as your default search engine Double click on the red monkey icon to reconfigure your default preferences and remove it completely

TO REMOVE SWEETIM AS DEFAULT SEARCH ENGINE FROM FIREFOX DO THIS: close all firefox windows, go to your program files under the start menu go to mozilla, select fire fox in safe mode, then CHECK reset search engines and tool bars, then click the " make changes and restart" box. Its done IM is gone!!

It,s not gonna be enough to uninstall sweet im solely through windows control panel and removing the folder off your hard drive.there is still registry entries left.when you uninstall the program and the folder,and not the registry it kinda replicates itself.there is a program(freeware) that i used.it scours all locations.including registry items(values)and effectivly deletes them from your entire system.
this program is called revo uninstaller.google it.
I uninstalled it and now every time i try to go to a site it bring up search.sweetim.com and tries to get me to search for every single thing im trying to go to. If I go to facebook, it searches with thier search engine facebook, same with most every other site. Thank you to whoever gave me the idea to open it in safe mode, I couldnt figure out where that is on mozilla lol I havent had it long enough to play around with it.
Go to ccleaner.com. Install the free version. When it's install, click on the program--->tools---->uninstall. Go down to sweet im and click unistall button. ccleaner was the only thing I found that completely unistall the program from my comp. And sweetim is total shit, and they should be sued.
revo uninstaller did the job.
More than 18.000 registry entries from this f@kin piece of sit sweetIM.
I recommend revo uninstaller, but be vareful, do not connect to the Internet during the procedure as it duplicates continuesly.
As for firefox, the advice of "about:config" etc Rocks!!!

This worked for me. To remove Sweet Im Search from Firefox, Go to control panel add/ remove programs - Uninstall Sweet IM. Then to prevent their crappy search page from coming back anyway,(It seems to be hiding in the Browser) Uninstall Firefox from Control Panel add/remove programs. Reinstall Firefox, Check to make Firefox your default homepage or go to Options to reset to your homepage. Add a program like Winpatrol or Spybot search and destroy to prevent changes to your homepage in the future. Hope this works for you.

I have read a lot of the compaints andhelp hints as to remove sweetIM and have attempted to remove it as per instructions. the toolbar disappeared but I still receive notices to upgrade, I have no intentions to use this program and am getting fed up with the upgrade notices. I contacted sweetIm and they had the nerve to tell me that I had a serious spyware problem. I have Avast anti virus which yesterday informed me that I had a trojan horse, I followed instructions of removal and my computer is just fine. Except this stupid seetIm updates showing up. The help desk from them is in Russia??? That could be the problem right there??? Someone needs to let me and a lot of the comlaining people know what we can do.

Ok this is really easy to get rid of, i just did this myself.
All you have to do is run the set up again and select the Remove option. Click next and all that and bam, your free of this useless program.
A common problem is that even after uninstallin sweet i and flushing registry, sweetIM stays your search engine. I was frustrated as shit... but have found teh solution.
There is good news to get back your old search engine. No need to format your drive or such like. Its very simple... Here goes:
In Firefox, type "about:config" in the location bar.
Accept the "I will be careful".
go to the "keyword.URL" counter.
right click on it, and click modify.
replace the sweetIM shit with "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=". (without the quotes, ofcourse) That is the Firefox default.
(If you prefer Scroogle, enter "http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/nbbw.cgi?Gw=" or for Bing, enter "http://bing.com/results.aspx?q=")
click ok a couple of times and restart your browser.
Thats it.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS :
1. on the toolbar you may see a "red monkey" .
2. besides it , theres an arrow facing "down wards"
3. click it and then choose "uninstall"
4. read the options and choose whats best for you.
5. close ur browser , no need to restart your computer
6. wait for 2 minutes and reopen your browser to make sure its gone
^ toolbar and homepage and itz programs < - - SweetIM will be gone 4good
TIPS :

. no need to shut down your computer , just close your browsers when
uninstalling

Hi all.
To remove this load of crap go My Computer--> C Drive--> Windows-->Preftech Folder. In here you will find the SweetIM exe file. Just delete it. This cured the problem for me. I run Mozilla firefox.

i uninstalled sweet im but its added itself to the firefox address bar as the default search provider so i will have to remove it manually. definitely spyware, it shouldnt of installed in the first place as i selected the "do not install" option but it still did, stupid piece of shit :/

d best way is to close all processes of SweetIm from d task manager.
close messenger n IE.
Go on add n remove programs n unistall SweetIm.
Then on C: > Program Files and then delete sweetIM
U'll get rid of it for good.

Okay i dont get this atall...
Ive been into my Add/Remove Programmes so many times and there isnt anything about sweetIM or its company, I've tryed going into the registration files like someone said in the comments, and it cant find it there - ive done a general search over all of my computer for all the key words ive been told to search for, and it says over all my computer, nothing like that exsists and yet on my facebook page - if i type in a status or a comment or something the sweetIM bar comes up so i can "use" it, normally i'd just ignore it, but it wont let me Tag people anymore, and every now and then it wont let me post any comments or anything eather, Is it to do with my facebook instead? anything i can do to get rid of it? please help its getting overly annoying T_T Ive provided my facebook profile so that if anyone could get back to me they can find me there - thanks for your help guys :)

I uninstalled Sweetim, removed it from add ons using the tools option at the top of Firefox and there it still was every time I opened Firefox. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but there it still was. In fact I spent ages on the net looking for a solution and trying them all to no avail. I didn't want to type the config thing in the address bar that seemed to be the answer for some people because it said it could void my warranty. I also didn't want to use programs like Hijackthis because I haven't much of a clue about how to do anything with a computer but use the keyboard and the mouse (obviously). Finally I went to google homepage and just dragged the google icon to the little house picture at the top right of the computer and I don't have it as my home page anymore. Sweetim really sucks!
In addition to making google my homepage, I clicked the little red monkey at the top of the page as recommended by the person up the page a bit and deleted it as a search engine. Apparently the monkey was invisible, but magically appeared after I read the post by 3xquizite.

NEW ADVICE how to TOTALY KILL SWEETIM WITH FIRE! LOL ok thsi is what u guys do...
first delete it from the control panel
then go to firefox and do the about:config keyword thing
dont forget to go to your c:/windows/prefetch folder and delete everything sweetim from there too
and in the end open firefox : tools options, manage add ons, recent updates and REMOVE THE FREAKIN SWEETIM FROM THERE TOO ... now ur finally free

If you are using Chrome and it keeps coming up when you try to search in the URL type in about://settings/ change the default search engine to Google and then delete SweetIM from the list. Also remove it from your programs with the add/remove program under control panel.

How do I uninstall the SweetIM Toolbar for Firefox?

I can't remove it on google chrome... I uninstalled it, but it only worked on internet explorer.

I'm about to get a new laptop, simply so I don't have to deal with this sweet im dumb crap.
I recently installed whoislive. It's a program that lets you see who is also looking at that webpage and chat with them. During the setup it asked me if I wanted to install sweetim, I told it I didnt want sweetim.
I tested out whoislive but it slowed down my computer so I uninstalled it. After I uninstalled it sweetim toolbars were installed to my firefox and ie. I never authorised it to do this to my computer. I cant get rid of this stupid toolbar.
Never install whoislive to your computer. It's a nasty program that installs sweetim toolbars to your computer without your permission.
After removing the annoying SweetIM search function (both toolbar and program), I still got a SweetIM tab in my Firefox browser when I asked for e new tab. The only solution was to uninstall Firefox (and remove the Firefox folder), the install it again.
Remember to backup your bookmarks before uninstalling Firefox.
SweetIm is the worst piece of software I have ever seen.
after removal if you find its still default search in firefox you can change it this way:
in firefox address bar type
about:config
then find preference
keyword.sweetim
right click it and select reset on all values that appear
this should fix it

Although I have to say that before I was battling SweetIm myself and deleted most of the files. But now I removed it completely through control panel like it is said here. And no, uninstalling and installing Windows Live does NOT help. That was one of the methods that i tried using myself.
It is the most shitest program which I have seen before! I cant uninstall from my fb! It was very hard to remove it from my pc. I did it, but it still leave in my fb!!! Bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I managed to get rid of the sweetim tool bar on my firefox (THANK GOD), but now I have discovered its f'kn on my facebook as well! Theres a big fat sweetim tool bar on the comment bar, how the hell do you get rid of this thing!??

SweetIM is crapware. They have no office, vague EULA, an uninstall that only partially does the uninstall, but keeps components of SweetIM running..
my computer doens't even list Sweetim in the add/delete list of programs! WTH?! Its in my WLM (MSN) and i hate it just as much as everybody here, it's a true pain in the ass! ... would anybody know if there's a solution to my problem? ...
my kid installed this sweetim junk and its taken over my browsers and added bullshit "your a winner" boxes which of course my kid will love to click on. tried to uninstall everything sweetim-ish and it comes up that it is installing instead. these clowns need a kick up the arse for wasting my precious time trying to get rid of them. can someone help us all to kill it in plain english please.

i went it to control panel and went to unstall i also had to unstall google done all that and it stil showed up on my ie but i run spybot it came up in there i cleaned it ll through that logged on to facebook showed up there running spybot again and see if i get rid of it but its cleared from everything else
